Our terrace house project in Alexandria was handed over back in December 2014 and we finally have the winning shots of this project. We're looking forward to see how we do with this submission into the NSW Master Builders Association awards for 2015. Judging is to take place between May and July and the Gala night will be held later on in the year. Good luck to our team - it was a difficult project with all the intricacies involved, which made it all the more rewarding when we handed over the keys to the ecstatic clients Paul & Monique! The project also featured in the 2 April 2015 issue of the DOMAIN of The Sun herald. Head on over to portfolio to check out the project write up and full set of project images. Many thanks to Paul & Mon for being awesome clients to with work and to the architect Tony Beattie of Beattie Co. Architecture for creating an amazing project to partner together on. We are proud to showcase our 2 projects that we will be submitting this year for the 2015 NSW Master Builders Association awards. Here's hoping for another double win! Our Alexandria project was a terrace home renovation and addition of a round studio room out back...affectionately dubbed "the man cave". This project had many obstacles to overcome including a tree protection zone and pre-existing flooding issue. Our team did exceedingly well. We are very proud of the finished project and so are the clients. A full write up of this project including photo's can be found here. Our Mosman project whilst smaller in size in terms of work - still proved to be tricky. The clients purchased this beautiful home in the leafy suburb of Mosman, yet wanted to add there personal touch. Our team had to carefully renovate a kitchen, bathrooms, new timber flooring, rectify defects and renovate the pool. All this work had to be completed whilst protecting the house! We had to secure the rest of the house at each stage from dust and damage using our carefully planned Protection Management System. In the end it was all worth it as this beautiful house turned into the dream home the clients wanted. The full write up and photo's of this project can be found here. Judging of both projects will take place sometime between now and July. We wish our team all the best!
Last friday we took a little road trip to our nations capital - grateful that we were nominated for a national award for Alterations/Renovations upto $150,000. In all honesty we were honoured to be nominated and classed with amazingly talented builders from all over the country. This was a first for the Aspire Team - as we have now won awards on a state level for the last 3 years but never nominated for a national Master Builders Australia award. As the top builders from all over Australia descended upon Parliament House for the gala event - we were honoured to have our Prime Minister Tony Abbott open the night and present Young Australian Apprentice of the Year to Martin Lewis (which we thought was fantastic that they had him present to our nations up and coming builders who will take Australia's future in building forward!) Another fantastic highlight of the night was that we were witness to history being made with Young Master Builder of the Year award being presented to a woman for the first time! Well done Serena Guidice from Western Australia!! Our nominated category was called and as the nominated jobs from around the country flashed on the big screen it finally dawned on us what an achievement this really was! Aspire Constructions National Award winning builders for Alteration/Additions under $150,000!! We are so grateful be recognised for something we are so passionate about. Thanks so much for the Master Builders Association of NSW and Master Builders Association of Australia for supporting and recognising all the amazing builders in the construction industry. Also thanks to our team- for which this would not have been achieved - especially to our awesome Site Foreman Aaron Wright- who worked tirelessly on this project to achieve an outstanding build which is now recognised at a state and national level! Well Done Aaron! We had an amazing night and we look forward to what the future holds for Aspire Constructions as we strive for above and beyond excellence and customer satisfaction for all our jobs. Check out our current project in Alexandria as it draws to a close. We were able to catch Sam & the boys from Stone Art Australia working their magic and finishing off the polished concrete floors throughout. Below are a few shots of the curved roof with the beautiful curved glass windows now in and also a peek at the round studio back room. Project architect Tony Beattie of Beattie & Co has done an amazing job at utilising the small area he had to work with at the tiny terrace home - its really going to be an amazing home once finished in a few weeks.
Aspire Constructions winning project at WHALE BEACH has just been nominated for a NATIONAL Master Builders Award! The Gala night will be held at Parliament House in Canberra in November, hosting the best of the best builders from around the nation. PROJECT DETAILS: Located in a beautiful location opposite WHALE BEACH in the northern beaches of Sydney, Aspire Constructions was engaged for remedial building works to the existing balcony and internal renovations of a holiday home. The existing balcony had extensive waterproofing issues left degenerating over many years. Aspire Constructions was initially engaged by the client to rectify this major issue. Upon investigation we realized that there was no quick fix to the problem and found out that other builders had in the past attempted to fix the issues, with no long term avail. One of the main issues with the existing waterproofing was the fact that the external balcony was level and in some places higher than that of the internal floor level. We carefully planned and designed a solution for the problem along with the help of a structural engineer, our waterproofing expert and the "Guide to External Waterproofing: Balcony Decks MBA 2009 Edition" To deal with the Balcony floor level being too high we completely demolished the balcony which was a challenge as we had to hold and support two levels above and maintain a waterproof site the whole time. We re-built the new balcony to incorporate our custom designed waterproofing and drainage system and achieved a water tight job the entire throughout the entire construction phase and on completion. The job also involved a new timber railing and replacement of all Sliding doors, New kitchen, New timber floors, and painting of the complete home inside and out. Site Access was a critical issue due to the site being on a steep hill. This meant that all materials were taken up and down by either a small inclinator or an electric rope hoist from street level. It is an absolute honor for our team just to even be nominated for a national award. Jake and Aaron worked hard on this project to deliver an above and beyond build - working with the limited access, and it looks like their hard work has paid off. Well done boys and all the best for hopefully another win in November. This is a time lapse video of our current job - a terrace house in Alexandria with no rear access except via the front door. We have completely gutted the inside and are in the process of renovating, extending out the rear and also constructing a separate round studio room out back (which is just out of shot of the camera). A DOUBLE win for the Aspire Constructions Team! Taking out the Master Builders Association of NSW 2014 Awards for;
Attic Conversion - upto $200,000 | (Project : Summer Hill) House Additions / Alterations / Renovations - $100,000 - $150,000 | (Project : Whale Beach) A great night was had by all - we were able to celebrate in style and class as the Master Builders Association of NSW put on an amazing gala night for all finalists and winners. Held at the THE STAR Casino downtown and hosted by Larry Emdur and Kylie Gillies (hosts of THE MORNING SHOW)- we all had a wonderful night and we can't wait to hit the ground running with this double win and consecutive win 3 years in a row now! Well done to our amazing team - our efforts have paid off as we see Aspire Constructions taking out wins for 2012, 2013 and now 2014. Our teams attention to detail and high quality standard for all projects whether a new build, remedial work or small or large renovation has built this company into an award winning building firm. All credit to our directer Jake for building such a passionate team who strive for excellence above and beyond in all areas and to our "boys" for making Aspire Constructions a highly sought after building firm. |
