Hai Lang, Shell Cove

Hai Lang Residence is a unique luxury coastal home on the South Coast of NSW, designed to reflect both the owners’ Asian heritage and its seaside setting through a series of flowing architectural curves. The five-bedroom residence was defined by its striking curved roofline, grand entry, curved concrete elements and custom detailing, creating a build that pushed the boundaries of design, engineering and craftsmanship.

A key feature of the project was the complex three-dimensional curved roof and ceiling structure, which required custom-fabricated steelwork, intricate curved framing and highly detailed ceiling finishes to achieve the architect’s vision. The home also incorporated hidden gutters and downpipes, extensive curved concrete formwork, bespoke joinery and custom cedar screens, with every element carefully integrated to maintain the clean, flowing aesthetic.

The project demanded exceptional coordination between trades, innovative construction methods and meticulous attention to detail throughout. From the curved structural elements and custom joinery to the handcrafted finishes, every aspect of the home was delivered with precision and craftsmanship.
